Stewart Title named Stephen Sanders senior vice president (SVP), operations director of the newly combined San Francisco national commercial services/Bay Area network of offices.
“The opportunity to merge the two Bay Area national commercial services teams, San Francisco and the East Bay, into one here at Stewart is truly unique,” Sanders said in a release. “At a time when the competition is either cutting back, rethinking their commitment to providing national services to the industry, or simply struggling to consistently provide quality standards of service and underwriting, Stewart has stepped up and made perhaps the most significant single commitment to the national commercial services offering made in decades in the Bay Area.”
Sanders is joined by SVP, Escrow Operations Manager Tina Lucero, Underwriting Counsel Gedis Rusteika, Commercial Escrow Officer Susan Chen and SVP, Senior Commercial Escrow Officer Sanjay Chohan.
“Steve and Tina are both highly accomplished leaders and business builders in the commercial title industry,” SVP, Pacific Northwest Regional Manager Warren Samek said. “In terms of their technical knowledge, both are highly respected as elites in the industry. They join an already superb Stewart Bay Area team. The extent of their combined commercial knowledge along with their shared unique approach to adding value and building strong relationships with national commercial customers will bring an exciting, standard-setting array of capabilities to optimally serve our commercial customers, locally and nationally.”
Prior to joining Stewart, both Sanders and Lucero filled leadership roles in national commercial services at Old Republic Title and Fidelity National Title, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lucero was named to Women We Admire’s Top 50 Leaders of San Francisco for 2022.
“Stewart continues to focus on bringing in top talent and investing more into our national commercial services offering of best-in-class knowledge and expertise,” National Commercial Services Head Ryan Swed said. “These additions to the San Francisco Bay Area add valuable years of underwriting and closing experience to our already reputable team. We will look to Steve and his group of in-house leaders to continue establishing Stewart as the go-to commercial underwriter on the West Coast.”
