National Title Insurance of New York, Inc. recently hired J. Michael Dugan as vice president and Georgia underwriting counsel
, the company announced.
The company said Dugan is well-respected in the southeastern regional real estate law and national default services communities and possesses a wealth of practical experience in all facets of commercial and residential real estate.
“I am honored to welcome my friend and former title insurance agent, Michael Dugan, as vice president and Georgia state underwriting counsel for National Title Insurance of New York,” National Title Insurance of New York Vice President and Georgia State Manager Rachel Hollinger Chapman said in a release. “Michael’s multifaceted experience in residential and commercial real estate law make him an invaluable resource to our title insurance agents and our company.”
Dugan most recently served as a founding partner of DRL Law, LLC and Lake Oconee Title, LLC. He specialized in commercial and residential real estate transactions and default services. As a senior partner with McCurdy & Candler, LLC, Dugan managed the Atlanta-based law firm’s secured real estate initiatives, title insurance and settlement functions.
As vice president of the legal and treasury divisions for hotel REIT, Homestead Village, Inc., Dugan managed all corporate and hotel assets and credit facilities; as real estate and litigation counsel for the FDIC, he represented the Division of Asset and Depositor Services.
