Spruce has hired a former First American and Stewart executive to oversee its expansion into Texas, the company announced
Spruce’s new operations center will be in Dallas. It will be led by the company’s new Executive Vice President of Real Estate Operations Lisa Robertson, the company announced.
Robertson will be responsible for scaling Spruce’s title and closing operations, and the company is currently hiring for various positions in sales and operations, Spruce said.
“Lisa’s proven track record of success and experience is key for us as we look to enable not only mortgage lenders in their origination processes, but real estate companies as well,” Spruce stated in a release. “Until now, nobody has been motivated or focused on bringing meaningful cost savings and customer experience improvements to home purchase closings, and that is a key strategic focus for Spruce going forward.
“We are delighted to have Lisa on board as we look to scale our operations outside of our New York headquarters to enable us to serve more clients,” the company stated. “She is uniquely qualified to address the needs of our mortgage lender and real estate clients, and her passion for providing a great service to all of our customers will serve to strengthen our strong customer-focused culture.”
Prior to joining Spruce, Robertson was group senior vice president at Stewart, responsible for centralized title and closing operations for both refinance and purchase transactions. She also served with Stewart’s Relocation Services division.
Robertson spent 16 years at Citi leading operations for mortgage originations, small business lending and home equity. Additionally, she served as vice president of National Operations at First American.
“The status quo has continued to overshadow innovation in this industry,” Robertson said. “I’ve been so impressed with Spruce, their commitment to transparency and re-imagining the customer experience. It’s at the core of everything they do. I’m incredibly excited to be a part of making the future of title and settlement a modern and more favorable experience.”
