American Eagle Title Insurance Co. (AETIC) announced the appointment of Frederick Pender as national underwriting counsel. With over 12 years of experience in the title industry, as well as a legal background, Pender brings a combination of underwriting expertise, compliance leadership, and legal acumen to the executive team.
Pender joins AETIC after serving in both agency and underwriter roles at Stewart Title, Spruce Holdings, and most recently as general counsel at Aria Title Consultants.
“Frederick is an exceptional addition to our team,” American Eagle Title Insurance Co. Chairman Emeritus Randy Dittmann said in a release. “His ability to simplify the complex, his deep understanding of national regulations, and his reputation for thoughtful, actionable counsel make him uniquely suited to help lead our underwriting strategy forward.”
As national underwriting counsel, Pender will oversee legal and compliance initiatives tied to AETIC’s underwriting operations. His responsibilities include developing and maintaining compliant rate manuals, guiding underwriter and agency relationships, overseeing title-related legal matters, and supporting national licensing and expansion efforts. He will also lead initiatives focused on aligning underwriting operations with state and federal regulations including RESPA, TRID, FinCEN, and the Corporate Transparency Act.
“I’m honored to join American Eagle Title Insurance Co. at such a pivotal time in its growth,” Pender said. “I look forward to supporting our agents and teams with thoughtful underwriting guidance and ensuring we maintain the highest standards of legal and regulatory excellence across every market we serve.”
Pender holds a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
