Title Resources Group (TRG) announced the appointment of Michael Obertone as regional underwriting counsel, serving as lead counsel for the state of Georgia. With more than 30 years of experience in real estate law, Obertone brings extensive expertise across residential and commercial transactions.
“Michael brings a depth of firsthand knowledge as both a title agent and Georgia attorney,” Katie Wise, deputy chief underwriting counsel at TRG, said in a release. “He understands what it takes to successfully navigate a transaction from start to finish. His practical and invaluable insight will directly benefit our Georgia agent network and enhance the overall experience of working with TRG.”
Obertone began his career in private practice, focusing on residential real estate before expanding into commercial underwriting in 2014, supporting transactions across 14 states, primarily in the Southeast. He joined TRG in July 2025 as supervisor, commercial title production, following his role as director of title and legal compliance at Parkway Law Group. Earlier in his career, he served as underwriting counsel for a national title insurance underwriter in its commercial services division and held leadership roles in Georgia law firms and title agencies. Obertone develops comprehensive training programs for title professionals and plans to expand educational opportunities at TRG for both agents and internal teams.
“Our goal is to support our agents not only by answering questions, but by equipping them with the knowledge and resources to confidently navigate future transactions,” said Obertone. “I look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships and helping our agents succeed in the Georgia market.”
