Minneapolis-based CloseSimple, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform used by title companies, escrow companies, and real estate attorneys, recently earned SOC2 Type II certification.
An SOC2 audit measures an organization’s controls that are relevant to security, availability, processing integrity and confidentiality.
“This goes a step further than a SOC2 Type I report, which is limited to an auditor's opinion of the design of our controls,” CloseSimple stated in a release. “Although our security program goes beyond what is contained in this audit, it does demonstrate CloseSimple's commitment to observing industry standards and providing transparency to our customers.”
CloseSimple’s SOC2 report was prepared by Dansa D'Arata Soucia, LLP, of Buffalo, N.Y.
The company said after an audit of its system description, documentation and operational evidence, it was determined their controls were suitably designed and operating effectively during the monitor period.
Further SOC2 Type II audit reports will be provided on an annual basis, CloseSimple added.
In December 2022, CloseSimple received a multimillion-dollar investment from Plymouth Growth, a growth equity firm headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Company leaders said the new capital allows for hiring of new talent, accelerated product development and broader outreach to companies in the title industry seeking new digital closing options.
