In this year’s Voice of the Title Agent survey, nearly three-fourths of respondents (74 percent) described their agency as independent, a 2 percent decline from 2024’s survey. Nearly 14 percent labeled their agency as affiliated (1 percent less than in 2024) while almost 12 percent said their agency was direct (a 3 percent increase from 2024).
For affiliated agencies, 42 percent said they were working with real estate brokerages (down 1 percent from 2024) while nearly 40 percent noted they were working with an “other” category that was not among the specific choices listed in the survey (a 4 percent increase from 2024). Those who listed “other” as their partnership type said they worked with entities such as underwriters, attorneys, law firms, loan signing companies, banks and abstract companies.
