Clerks, recorders and registers offices consist of trained professionals who are dedicated to the highest standards of performance. Unfortunately, these offices are often handcuffed by outdated technology, resulting in delays that provide opportunity for real estate fraud and create havoc for businesses that rely on timely access to documents and information.
Now, the development of new recording technology is allowing clerks to streamline this process, ensuring timely recording and providing better access to the real estate industry and the public. The clerk's office in Indian River County, Fla., has been at the forefront of this movement, beginning the new year by going live with a fully electronic recording system, Landmark, developed by Florida-based Pioneer Technology Group.
Christi Price, Recording Division Supervisor for Indian River County, has been using the Landmark system daily since going live in December. “My staff and I are extremely excited about the new Landmark recording software. The system is very user friendly and easy to navigate, and I'm amazed at the knowledge and creativity of the Landmark team. The biggest difference for us is the excellent response, training and onsite support provided by everyone at Pioneer," Price said.
The Landmark recording system provides recorders with a scan-first document process and highly efficient, flexible workflow configuration. Internet access for the public is designed around an easy to use interface that also provides enhanced features for experienced users, such as the ability to run multiple searches simultaneously. The system is offered both as a comprehensive N-Tiered structure for the largest of counties, and as a hosted system alternative for counties that prefer not to manage a network infrastructure.
"We’re thrilled with Indian River’s response to Landmark,” said Steve Rumsey, president of Pioneer. "The county has been at the forefront of improving public service through technology, and the transition and implementation was even more successful than we expected. The new advancements in Landmark result from our highly experienced development team working in partnership with our customers. Many counties urgently need system upgrades, and Landmark provides both state of the art features and a long term solution to the challenges faced by clerks and recorders."
