Westcor Land Title Insurance Co. promoted Steven Black to president and chief operating officer. Black will report directly to CEO Terry Wright and oversee the company’s nationwide operations in service to Westcor’s independent agent network.
“Steve’s leadership, strategic mindset, and deep connection to our agents embody the values that define Westcor,” Wright said in a release. “His commitment to our mission and his proven ability to grow strong, sustainable markets make him the right leader to guide Westcor into its next chapter.”
Black joined Westcor in 2015 as vice president, Texas regional manager, later expanding his leadership to oversee the Western Area, which includes 17 states.
“Under his direction, Westcor experienced consistent growth, record-setting revenue, and strengthened relationships with title agents and industry partners,” a release stated. “His leadership has been instrumental in establishing Westcor’s strong presence by building teams that attract agents to the unique culture, product and service offerings that are laser focused on helping agents grow their businesses.”
With more than 35 years of title industry experience, Black brings an understanding of both underwriting and agency operations. Early in his career, he worked with a national underwriter where he developed key agent relationships and created a centralized title production platform for national lending institutions. He later founded and operated three title agencies before joining Westcor.
