First American Financial Corp. recently announced it was recognized as a “Most Innovative Company of the Year” by the American Business Awards, earning a bronze Stevie award in the category for companies with more than 2,500 employees. This marks the second time First American has received this recognition, having previously won in 2022. More than 3,600 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in various industries were submitted to the 2025 awards program multiple categories.
“At First American, we’re committed to developing innovative platforms and tools that blend the best of technology with the deep expertise of our people to help solve industry challenges and benefit our customers,” First American Chief Innovation Officer Paul Hurst said in a release. “Earning recognition amid strong competition from across the broader business community validates our position as a leading innovator and our efforts to power seamless real estate transactions.”
The company’s emphasis on providing its customers and employees with digital tools designed to enhance efficiency and streamline operations, combined with its ongoing efforts to further deploy artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and other technologies, helped the company stand out from competitors. For example, the company has enhanced productivity through its proprietary map-based underwriting tool that helps First American underwriters reach faster and better coverage decisions. Additionally, the company has deployed proprietary AI and automation technology to further broaden its title data leadership with the addition of 100 new title plants, bringing its total title plant count to over 1,800 and boosting efforts to automate title production.
First American was also named a Most Innovative Company of the Year at the Best in Biz Awards 2024.
