In this year’s Voice of the Title Agent survey, many title agents said they think more needs to be done to address fraud and ensure data/escrow security.
The percentage of title insurance professionals who believe enough is being done (28 percent) is similar to what the numbers were in 2024 (27 percent).
Meanwhile, the percentage of survey participants who felt not enough was being done dropped from 46 percent to 40 percent. The percentage who were uncertain about security actions rose from 27 percent to 32 percent.
Several respondents noted that security is a challenging issue that is constantly evolving as hackers get better at what they do.
“There is a lot being done to make agents aware of the threats, but the criminals continue to be crafty and present new challenges,” one survey participant wrote.
