Brady & Kosofsky, PA (B&K Law), a real estate closing and title services law firm serving clients in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, on March 27 announced the appointment of Esther Thompson Merrick as chief executive officer, effective immediately.
In her new role as CEO, Merrick will lead the firm’s day-to-day business, guiding strategy, operations, technology and team development as B&K Law continues to grow across its markets.
The appointment was made by founding partners Kelly Brady and Jaime Kosofsky, who will continue to lead the firm’s legal practice and work in close partnership with Merrick as B&K Law advances toward its next chapter.
“Esther has been one of the most important people in this firm’s story,” Kosofsky said in a release. “She knows this business inside and out — the operations, the technology, the people, the clients. More than that, she cares deeply about doing things the right way. Kelly and I could not be more confident in her leadership, and we are excited about everything this team is going to build together.”
Merrick brings to the CEO role years of hands-on experience across B&K Law’s core operations, including closing production, post-closing, title services, technology and client service.
“Her thorough understanding of the firm’s workflows and systems, combined with her genuine care for the team and the clients they serve, has made her a trusted voice at every level of the organization,” a press release from the company reads. “Known for her work ethic, her loyalty to the firm, and her ability to identify solutions where others see obstacles, Esther has played a meaningful role in shaping the way B&K Law operates today. Her appointment as CEO is a natural reflection of the confidence and trust the firm’s leadership places in her — and a recognition of the impact she has already made.”
