EquityProtect announced a partnership with the American Association of State Troopers (AAST). Under the deal, EquityProtect will offer AAST members discounted access to its patented technology designed to safeguard homeowners from deed theft crimes.
AAST is a national fraternal organization established in 1989 to support active and retired state troopers, highway patrol officers, and state police officers.
AAST members who are homeowners deemed at risk for title theft can now use EquityProtect’s SmartPolicy to actively block unauthorized financial transactions on their property, backed by a $1 million insurance guarantee. The added benefit for members comes at a time when instances of home title theft are increasing across the nation, with the FBI reporting more than 10,000 cases and $170 million in losses from such crimes in the last two years.
“Offering access to this preventative home title fraud technology highlights our association’s ongoing mission to find new and important ways to bring added value to our members,” AAST Executive Director John Bagnardi said in a release. “Title theft is a growing concern, and we are proud to offer our members the ability to safeguard their properties with the best tool on the market.”
