The Title Report will be on the ground and ready to roll at ALTA ONE Oct. 14-18, where title professionals will converge at the Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Fla.
Following American Land Title Association (ALTA) organizational meetings to start the week, guests will be greeted Wednesday, Oct. 16, with an Omni Session examining “Reinvention and Entrepreneurship,” which will be led by Don Kennedy, managing director, agency division, First American Title; Diane Tomb, CEO, ALTA; and Eddie Huang, filmmaker, actor, chef and TV personality.
Zafar Khan, CEO of RPost, will then present “AI Meets Cybersecurity: Entering a Wave of Cybercriminal Impostor Chaos the World Has Never Seen.”
The talk promises to showcase how cybercriminals have found their “killer app” in artificial intelligence (AI). It will discuss how “left brain and right brain AI” together can power-up cybercriminals as well as combat risks that are here and now.
Other Wednesday sessions include:
- “Waiting for Godot: Will Fed Rate Cuts Reignite the Housing Market?” with Mark Fleming, First American Title Chief Economist.
- “Overcoming the Inevitable Knowledge Apocalypse Deficit” with Thomas Peck, legal assistant, compliance and governance, AmTrust Title Insurance Co.
- “Strategic Insights on M&A, Valuation and Succession Planning Alternatives” with Eugene Urcan, CEO, Meadowlark Title, LLC.
- “Ask the Cyber Security Experts” with Tyler Adams, CEO and co-founder, CertifID; Rick Diamond, vice president of information technology, agency operations, Fidelity National Financial; Reese Lacasse, senior vice president and chief information officer, CATIC; and Genady Vishnevetsky, chief info security officer, Stewart Title Guaranty Co.
Oct. 17 will include a talk on the regulatory landscape led by Christopher Morton, senior vice president of public affairs and chief advocacy officer, ALTA; Lisa Steele, chief operating officer, Mother Lode Holding Co.; Mary Thomas, senior vice president, chief compliance and regulatory officer, Stewart Title Guaranty Co.; and Tara Van Rooy, executive vice president and general counsel, Fidelity National Title Group, FNF Family of Companies.
That will be followed by “Top 10 Hot Topics in Commercial Real Estate” with Nancy Landmark, vice president and senior title counsel, Commercial Partners Title, a division of Chicago Title Insurance Co.; and Leonard Prescott, director of underwriting, agency division, First American Title Insurance Co.
The remainder of the week will include insight on real estate scams, various affiliated business structures, comments from incoming ALTA President Richard Welshons and much more.
