October Research’s inaugural Women Leadership Summit (WLS) is taking place Aug. 17 and 18 in Savannah, Ga.
Several female title and mortgage industry experts will address several topics of interest to women in business. Constructed around the four pillars of develop, grow, support and empower, WLS is designed to give attendees the tools to craft their advancement plan and reach their goals.
Sessions include “Owning Your Accomplishments” by National Association of Women in Real Estate Businesses CEO Desirée Patno; “Negotiating for What you Want” by ZOCCAM founder and CEO Ashley Cook and Frontdoor Director of Business Development Melanie Thomas; and a female leadership panel featuring Amrock CEO Nicole Beattie, FNF Family of Companies SVP, National Agency Counsel Randy DeFoor, Westcor CEO Mary O’Donnell and SoftPro President Joyce Weiland. October Research CEO and Publisher Erica Meyer will lead the session “Investing in Yourself and Understanding Your Value.”
There are also workshops covering topics such as getting funding, building and using a support group, and work-life balance and talent retention.
The popularity of the Women in Business breakfast, introduced two years ago at the National Settlement Services Summit (NS3), told Meyer that the industry would not only support an event like WLS, but would welcome it.
“You spoke; we listened,” Meyer said. “Women in the title and mortgage space are looking for opportunities to not only advance their careers and grow, but to give back to other women in the industry who are on their own journey. We expect WLS to help attendees do just that.”
