Pennsylvania-based 1031 CORP. appointed Jordan Born as general counsel of 1031 CORP. and president of its sister company, Reverse 1031 CORP. He will oversee all reverse and improvement exchange transactions facilitated by Reverse 1031 CORP.
“As Reverse 1031 CORP. prepared to expand our services, Jordan was the perfect choice to lead those efforts,” Margo McDonnell, president of 1031 CORP. and CEO of Reverse 1031 CORP., said in a release. “He shares 1031 CORP.’s business philosophy and commitment to an exceptional exchange experience. He also has a passion for reverse and improvement exchanges and a desire to simplify these complicated transactions for our clients and their advisors.”
Born is experienced in assisting investors and business owners in all aspects of real estate transactions, including 1031 like-kind exchanges. He also spent many years as a real estate attorney in private practice where he advised in all matters related to commercial and residential real estate, corporate law and civil commercial litigation, as well as national commercial counsel for a large national title insurance company.
“I am very happy to join 1031 CORP. and work with our clients to ensure satisfaction with their 1031 exchanges,” Born said. “1031 CORP. has a sterling reputation in the community, and I’m excited to be part of such a wonderful team. Reverse and improvement exchanges are particularly important in this market where taxpayers need to move quickly to secure the new property, build anew and/or repurpose existing structures to fit their business or investment needs in the future.”
Born also serves on the board of directors of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators, the national trade association for exchange professionals, and is a frequent presenter on Section 1031-related topics.
“I had gotten to know Jordan through the Federation of Exchange Accommodations as I was ending several terms of service on the board of directors, and he was beginning,” McDonnell said. “I appreciate his service to the 1031 industry as a volunteer leader and educator. I knew he would be a perfect fit for our exchange team, and I could not have been more right. I am grateful to have him as a vital member of our leadership team.”
