Palatine, Ill.-based Proper Title, LLC, a full-service title insurance agency serving the residential and commercial real estate sectors, announced the firm’s charitable arm, Proper Giving, presented the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (Lurie’s) a check in the amount of $30,000 during a Proper Title staff volunteer day on November 16. The monetary donation, which was raised over the course of 12 months, is in addition to the many hours of service contributed by the firm’s employees.
“To be able to present a $30,000 check on behalf of Proper Title to the incredible staff at Lurie’s is truly humbling,” said Ben Niernberg, executive vice president of business development and operations at Proper Title. “We’re so proud of our team’s efforts in making this substantial contribution possible, and hope these funds further Lurie’s mission of providing phenomenal care to so many Chicago-area children and their families.”
Niernberg was joined by David Garside, executive vice president of title and escrow operations at Proper Title, in presenting the check to representatives of Lurie’s cardiac care unit and Children’s Fund. Several other members of Proper Title and Lurie’s were also in attendance.
Proper Title has been raising funds for Lurie’s since it founded Proper Giving in the summer of 2015. For every residential and commercial transaction the firm completes, Proper Title contributes $10 to the Proper Giving program, as well as $3 for every refinancing transaction it oversees. “When you consider we’ve increased our transaction volume by 400 percent since the firm was founded three years ago, our success means even more to us since it directly benefits people in need,” said Niernberg.
In addition to Proper Giving’s monetary donations to Lurie’s, Proper Title’s employees also volunteer time each month to visit children at the hospital. “Whether it’s money or time, giving to the community is very much a part of Proper Title’s culture,” said Niernberg. “We look forward to continuing the growth of our business as well as our positive impact in the community.”
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago routinely provides care to more young people than any other hospital or medical center in the Chicago area.
