Northbrook, Ill.-based Proper Title, LLC, a full-service title insurance agency serving the residential and commercial real estate industries, announced the firm has been appointed to the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (Lurie’s) Circle of Corporate Champions in recognition of the monetary contributions of the firm’s charitable arm, Proper Giving. Since its establishment in July of 2015, Proper Giving has donated more than $20,000 and over 30 hours of volunteer time to Lurie’s.
“Proper Giving is a natural extension of the culture at Proper Title, where we don’t define success strictly by the bottom line,” said Ben Niernberg, executive vice president of business development and operations at Proper Title. “We’re immensely proud for the opportunity to share our professional success, and aid an incredible organization like Lurie’s in its mission to help children.”
For both residential and commercial transactions, Proper Title will contribute $10 to the Proper Giving program, and $3 for every refinancing transaction. Since its inception in 2013, Proper Title has increased its transaction volume by 400 percent and revenues by 420 percent, and grown its staff from 26 employees to 50. Proper Title was also recently ranked the second-largest title insurance agency in Illinois.
“With the recent expansion of our Chicago office, and the grand opening of a new headquarters in Palatine, we’re excited to grow not only our business, but our contributions to Lurie’s as well,” Niernberg said.
In addition to Proper Giving’s monetary donations to Lurie’s, Proper Title’s employees also volunteer time each month to visit children at the hospital.
“I’m so proud of our team at Proper Title, as they’ve been so incredibly generous with their time,” said Niernberg. “Whether it’s spending an afternoon doing a craft project with the kids, reading to them, or just providing a break from their constant medical demands, it’s truly a rewarding experience for all of us.”
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago routinely provides more care to more young people than any other hospital or medical center in the Chicago area. The organization’s Circle of Corporate Champions recognizes corporations that contribute $10,000 or more in a calendar year, awarding the Silver-level designation for contributions of $20,000 or more, and the Gold level of at least $50,000.
“It is our hope that we’ll be able to move from the Silver to the Gold level contributor in the future,” said Niernberg. “Like our business model, our charitable approach is to continually strive to the next level and make a positive impact in the process.”
