Lakeside Title Co., headquartered in Columbia, Md, helped a record number of people across the state celebrate National Homeownership Month in June.
The company closed more than 850 residential and commercial closings in June throughout its 18 offices, including over 100 on June 30 alone. Both figures set all-time records for the 24-year-old company, according to Lakeside Title President and CEO Yvonne Deardorff.
“I’m so proud of the work my team has done, not only this summer, but all year long,” she said in a release. “It has been a very busy time for us all, but we never lose sight of how important the process is for all our customers, especially those who are buying a new home.”
One of those closings included Victoria Brawner, a first-time homebuyer and employee at Lakeside Title’s King George County (Virginia) office. As a settlement officer for 20 years, Brawner has seen many homeownership dreams come true and was happy that she and her husband got to experience that same feeling with the help of her colleagues.
“We love working with all our customers, of course, but being able to see Vickee sit in the buyers’ spot at the closing table was extra special for the entire Lakeside Title family,” Deardorff said. “It was the perfect way to help cap off such a great month where we helped so many people move into their new homes.”
Established in 1997, Lakeside Title is a member of the American Land Title Association (ALTA) and several other industry groups. It’s a company that has always valued technology and was one of the first title companies in Maryland to go paperless. Deardorff and her team also have made the needed investments to be able to facilitate digital closings using remote online notarization, when applicable.
