Out of an abundance of caution concerning the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), WFG National Title Insurance Co. has canceled its summit scheduled for later this month in Orlando, Fla.
“While we sincerely regret the need to do so, we feel it is incumbent on us to take proactive precautionary measures to ensure that our agents and WFG team members remain safe and protected from potential exposure to the virus,” WFG founder and Executive Chairman Pat Stone said in a release.
“In such times of uncertainty, it is important to know that we are here to support you, your business needs, and those of your clients,” Stone said. “To that end, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.”
This year’s summit would have combined WFG’s Executive Round Table and WFG Spark, two popular industry events that draw hundreds of attendees. Speakers included Bradley Inman of Inman News and Brittany Hodak of The SuperFan Co.
Thus far, the Centers for Disease Control has confirmed 11 deaths in the U.S. from the virus, with the majority of those in Washington state.
Worldwide, more than 3,100 people have died from the coronavirus.
