Atlanta-area real estate law firm Cook & James is preparing to celebrate its golden birthday, marking 17 years in business on Feb. 17.
“Birthdays and anniversaries are always a good time for reflection, personally and professionally,” Heather James, attorney and co-founding partner at Cook & James, said. “When Kara and I opened our firm 17 years ago, we could not have known the excitement in store for us. Our reality today is a result of our past fastidious emphasis on providing the absolute highest level of professionalism and delivering a quintessential positive real estate closing experience for each and every client, each and every time, despite any challenge that might present itself.”
Since its inception in 2006, the firm added real estate closing capabilities in New York, Connecticut and South Carolina in addition to Georgia; launched Curbside Closings, a pioneering response to pandemic shutdowns; and opened a satellite office north of Atlanta in Woodstock to supplement its home base in Roswell, Ga.
“We are thrilled to have been able to share our Cook & James journey with so many great partners over the last 17 years. … Clients, employees and other industry professionals have all shaped our firm,” Kara Cook, attorney and co-founding partner at Cook & James, said. “Today, despite some definite head winds, we have maintained our signature integrity, steered by our canons and our caring, competent attitudes and abilities.”
Looking forward to 2023, the firm anticipates new events such as new agent breakfasts, a candle-making class hosted at the firm’s Roswell office, and other networking opportunities.
