The American Land Title Association (ALTA) has appointed Chris Morton senior vice president of public affairs, the association announced.
ALTA said Morton will lead its policy development, political engagement and lobbying strategy and be a member of its executive team. He also will work closely with senior leaders across the association and industry who engage in coalitions, campaigns and strategic communications to promote the title industry’s role in protecting consumers.
“Chris is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the financial services and public affairs arena,” ALTA CEO Diane Tomb said in a statement. “His experience championing strategic initiatives, creating strong partnerships and collaborative approach will enhance ALTA’s policy and public affairs efforts. Chris has demonstrated success in numerous legislative and regulatory leadership roles, and we are excited to have him join the ALTA family.”
Morton previously served as executive vice president, government affairs and business strategy at the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, He also has held senior roles at Fannie Mae and the Federal Housing Finance Board.
