NS3 Preview: Regulators, largest underwriter panel yet featured

The 16th annual National Settlement Services Summit (NS3), slated for Sept. 1-3, will be highlighted in part by a pair of featured speakers from Washington regulators and the largest underwriter panel in the show’s history.
That includes Department of Housing and Urban Development Deputy Secretary Brian Montgomery returns to NS3 for the second consecutive year. Last year, as Federal Housing Administration (FHA) commissioner, Montgomery previewed some of the work which later would come to fruition at the regulator.

CoreLogic rejects unsolicited acquisition bid

CoreLogic Inc. has unanimously rejected an unsolicited proposal from Senator Investment Group LP and Cannae Holdings Inc. it received last month, the company announced.
Cannae Holdings and Senator Investment Group said their offer was not seriously considered and their next move might be convening a special meeting in an attempt to remove CoreLogic’s board.

CoreLogic reviewing $7 billion acquisition bid

CoreLogic is reviewing an unsolicited $7 billion acquisition bid from Cannae Holdings and Senator Investment Group, LP, which own 15 percent of the outstanding shares of CoreLogic.
The two firms sent a letter to CoreLogic’s board of directors June 26, outlining a proposal to acquire the company for $65 per share in cash, equivalent to about $7 billion.

Industry’s first-quarter premiums soar
