Continental Title adds experienced underwriting counsel

Continental Title Group, a full-service commercial and residential title company headquartered in Baltimore, announced the hiring of Shawn Goldfaden as vice president and senior underwriting counsel. Continental Title Group is licensed to conduct business in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Formerly vice president and Maryland state counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Co., Goldfaden brings more than 22 years of industry experience to the company.

In his new role, Goldfaden will manage a range of commercial and residential purchase and refinance transactions. He will also be involved with corporate marketing and business development strategies.

Goldfaden has knowledge about developers, shopping center owners, syndications, low-income housing tax credit projects, as well as a comprehensive understanding of residential, commercial and mixed-use properties. He has also completed financial transactions for apartment complexes, assisted living and nursing care facilities, conventional and land condominium projects and work for religious organizations.

He formerly worked as district manager for asset preservation; executive vice president and general counsel for SteeleSoft Inc.; and associate attorney for the law firm of Morris & Schneider in Atlanta. Goldfaden is a regular speaker and author on numerous real property and title insurance-related topics and is an active member of the legislative and education committees of the Maryland Land Title Association.
