Stewart Title announced Bud Moscony as director of Homebuilder Relations dedicated to the national and regional builder and developer community. He is known for his skill in assembling and leading teams to better serve builder and developer clients.
“We are greatly saddened by the passing of Ken Phillips, and extend our deepest sympathy to his family and friends,” said Glenn Clements, group president of direct operations. “After the unexpected death of Ken, Bud has led our Homebuilder Relations team, and we are pleased to have him ready to lead this group on a permanent basis. He is a natural leader, and will be able to expand our builder and developer operations and services for our clients.”
“I am honored to step in as the leader of our homebuilder initiatives at Stewart, and I will work tirelessly to better serve our builder and developer customers,” said Moscony. “We are all about service here at Stewart, and I look forward to developing an outstanding builder team.”
Moscony has worked in real estate and financial services for more than 30 years, with a blend of high-level sales and operational experience. He is a member of the Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bars and recently served as a board member of the Real Estate Services Providers Council (RESPRO).
He also volunteers with various community organizations, including Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity.
He received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pa., and his JD from Rutgers Law School in Camden, N.J.
In New York, the company’s realignment included Craig Goldenberg’s appointment as division president for the New York direct Stewart Title operations. Julie Curlen will continue to oversee the New York agency services operations, reporting to George Houghton, group president, Agency Operations and Tom Vinci will continue to lead the New York commercial center, Title Associates, a division of Stewart Title Insurance Company (STIC) and report to Bruce Hawley, executive vice president, National Title Services. John Frates was appointed as executive vice president and STIC general counsel, reporting directly to Stewart Chief Legal Officer John Killea.
The New York operation was previously under the leadership of John Welling, who passed away in October. Welling was a member of the Stewart family of companies since 1992, and will be greatly missed.
“New York is a market filled with opportunities, and while we still mourn the loss of John Welling, we are encouraged by his legacy and the quality of the STIC operation,” said Matt Morris, chief executive officer of Stewart. “Welling was an essential part of a team that established a strong foundation, and his influence is apparent every day. We look forward to carrying on his legacy and further growing Stewart in New York.”
