North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) has promoted Adam Cotler to vice president, director of audit and compliance services, the company announced.
Cotler previously served as NATIC’s assistant director of quality assurance and compliance.
“Adam’s laser-focused approach to providing best-in-class compliance services has resulted in solid relationships between the audit team and our agents,” NATIC President Emilio Fernandez said in a release. “His leadership has transformed the team into a consultative department, and the compliance assistance he and his team offer results in greater success for our agents.
“His work to date on implementing audit standards for title agents that incorporate necessary factors such as risk control, best practices, regulatory matters and loss mitigation have been largely recognized by agents as a value-add from their underwriter,” Fernandez said.
NATIC said it also has revised the department name to audit and compliance services to align with the company’s vision and solutions-oriented approach to assisting independent and affiliate agents with running healthier, more efficient businesses.
“What we hope to accomplish with this name change is a broader understanding of how our audit and compliance services team speaks to our company’s overall vision of simple, done right,” Cotler said. “As with other departments within NATIC, we will ensure that working with us, whether it be on an audit or other matters, is straightforward and without complications.
“At the same time, we will continue to pay attention to and highlight the minor details for our agents that will help them avoid costly issues they may face with regulators or other entity oversight,” Cotler said. “I look forward to executing this mission in my new role.”
Cotler replaces W. Alex Kidd, who remains with the Lennar family of companies as director of quality assurance and compliance for CalAtlantic Title Inc., following the States Title acquisition of NATIC in January.
“Alex developed an audit program at NATIC that is well-respected in the industry and will serve as a great foundation from which to build upon as we grow our independent agency division and service our North American Title Company affiliate,” Fernandez said. “We are looking forward to working with him as he assumes the role with our largest independent agent, CalAtlantic Title.”
