NextDeal was able to use its digital document storage service DigitalDocs to help customers affected by the July Cloudstar ransomware attack. DigitalDocs stores documents after a signing and then notifies settlement agents when those owners are back on the market.
Three NextDeal customers reached out to company founder Robert Reich when they were faced with having to manually resurrect files which they lost access to due to the attack. Reich said his team was able to restore months’ worth of documents stored on DigitalDocs servers, put them on an encrypted hard drive and ship them to those customers.
“NextDeal is all about bringing cutting edge technologies to the title industry to capture repeat business and solve other difficult challenges. We were happy that we could step in and provide a backup of this vital data to our customers,” Reich said in a release.
Canyon Title in Colorado was one tile company able to continue operations thanks to assistance from Reich and his team.
“In a time of extreme challenge, Robert Reich and the NextDeal team were proactively identifying solutions to help us solve major issues to recover much-needed information and data we no longer had access to through our title production software,” Canyon Title President Robert Lindley said.
