Missouri-based Agents National Title Insurance Co. was the fastest-growing underwriter in the U.S. last year, according to a market share analysis from the American Land Title Association.
Agents National achieved an increase of $48 million in premiums from 2019-2020, a 262 percent year-over-year increase. The company experienced particular growth in Florida, Texas and California. It added 30 new state licenses, launched groundbreaking technologies, and brought on additional leaders to manage its expansion.
“We’re thrilled that lenders across the country now see Agents National as their premier title insurance partners, as we help them save time and money, shorten rate lock times, and close faster,” Agents National President David Townsend said in a release. “All the credit goes to our topnotch network of agents, and our in-house underwriting and operations staff who help them shine. We’re rolling out even more technologies and tools to differentiate our services and our people in the year ahead.”
The company recruited long-time industry executives Todd Mendolia as COO and Dan Hassen as National Agency manager, and promoted Controller Elizabeth Blake to CFO. It launched the REalSearch “instant title” decisioning engine and built integrations with virtually every title agency system to provide customized production support.
In 2021, Agents National will target the Upper Midwest, Northeast and West Coast.
