AmTrust Title Insurance Co. has hired Richard H. Himes, Jr. as its Southeast Counsel, the company announced.
Himes will oversee AmTrust’s business in Florida and neighboring states in the Southeast. He will provide underwriting assistance to agents in Florida and the Southeast and support AmTrust as it launches business operations in those states.
“Committed to growing our business in the southeastern U.S., we are equally committed to sourcing the most accomplished professionals to implement that mandate,” AmTrust President Jason Gordon said in a release.
“Rick has an impressive background in title--more than 39 years dealing in every aspect of the industry from title searches to processing and closing both residential and commercial transactions, to document preparation, underwriting, claims and claims management, to regulatory matters and many more,” Gordon added. “The co-founder and operator of two title insurance underwriters and two title insurance agencies, as well as managing and expanding a title agency owned by a Fortune 500 company, Rick’s rich experience will help to accelerate our expansion in an area of the country where demand is consistently on the rise.”
Prior to joining AmTrust, Himes was partner in Title Experts and Management. Before that, he was president and senior underwriting counsel of Mason Title & Escrow Company.
