Independence Title food donation
In partnership with LifeNet4Families serving Fort Lauderdale’s hungry families with much needed food, local resident and chief executive officer of Independence Title, Kevin Tacher, auctioned off 71 pallets of food for the city’s hungry. Tacher was named the vice chair on the LifeNet4Families board of directors in 2013.
“When we had the opportunity to present LifeNet4Families with a donation of $17,750 to feed 63,687 people one meal we were so excited,” Tacher said. “Given the fact that one pallet of food weighs 700 pounds and will feed 897 meals, our auction was quite a success. This time we fed 63,687 people and for that we’re so incredibly grateful.”

University Title gives for its 40th birthday
According to Bryan-College Station, Texas, newspaper The Eagle, for its 40th birthday, University Title Co. gave $80,000 to five local charities.
The title company contributed $40,000 to the local Habitat for Humanity and then another $40,000 was evenly divided between Family Promise, Operation Finally Home, Project Unity and Twin City Mission. The Habitat for Humanity donation is enough to build one home for a family of three, and University Title will also be providing many of the volunteers who will help build it.
The story mentioned that the company also plays an active role in philanthropic community activities such as the Junior League's Stuff the Bus campaign and the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk.
University Title was founded in 1973 by Phillip Goode and is run today by his daughter, Chief Executive Officer Celia Goode-Haddock.
