The real estate transaction security firm Vialok has added Jacob (Jake) Kakareka to the company’s Board of Advisors as the firm’s financial crimes expert, the company announced.
Kakareka works with the Florida Counter Drug Program and is involved in research, analysis, and distribution of complex information on large-scale domestic and international narco-terror related crimes. He will advise Vialok on how to use financial metadata to identify and disrupt financial crimes.
“Jake is an expert in fighting financial crime,” Vialok co-founder Stewart Holley said in a release. “Jake’s extensive experience working in cybersecurity and intelligence operations has been extremely helpful with our product development.”
Vialok said Kakareka is a decorated military veteran and has been instrumental in developing security protocols, both physical and cyber, for the military. He has training in compliance and fraud, imposing sanctions, anti-money laundering, and fraud controls and programs at financial institutions.
Earlier this year, Vialok launched a security solution designed to secure transactions between title agents, lenders, buyers, sellers and their agents
“Vialok’s groundbreaking anti-fraud software is the most elegant solution for combating wire fraud that I have seen in years,” Kakareka said.
