What’s in a name? Apparently quite a bit if you’re analyzing which generation was the most-active homebuyers in 2017.
ATTOM Data Solutions analyzed more than 4 million sales of single family homes in 2017, breaking the sales down by the first name of the buyer. What did it find?
As probably expected, the biggest increases in homes purchased in 2017 were by buyers with first names popular among millennials — Dylan, Chelsea, Austin, Alexandra and Taylor, according to ATTOM’s analysis.
The biggest decreases in homes purchased were by buyers with first names popular among GenXers, the Silent Generation and Greatest Generation. These were names such as Gerald, Kristin, Stanley, Kurt and Jaime.
