Zipwhip has moved its Seattle headquarters to a brand new office space in Elliott Bay Office Park, the company announced.
Zipwhip said it signed a 10-year lease agreement to occupy more than 75,000 square feet, allowing the company to nearly double its current headcount to 500 employees and expand the company’s presence in Seattle.
“Our first real office was in lower Queen Anne, and three office moves later, we’re back in this neighborhood where it all started,” Zipwhip CEO John Lauer said in a release. “It wasn’t easy to find an office space that could accommodate our size and future growth, but we knew we needed to stick around Seattle. There’s no better city to be a startup right now – the tech community here is so supportive of companies like us, and you really don’t find that everywhere.”
Zipwhip said it partnered with interior designer Christine Chaney and architect Marvin Yamaguchi to design the space. Chaney, Yamaguchi and an employee-led committee developed the office plan over the course of 2019.
The company provides business texting solutions to a variety of industries, including the financial services industry and credit unions such as INOVA Credit Union, Missoula Federal Credit Union and Towpath Credit Union.
