The day after all the Christmas presents have been unwrapped and your visitors have made their way back to their own homes, what should you do?
Instead of navigating busy stores to return gifts, prospective homebuyers should look to close deals on homes, according to an analysis by ATTOM Data Solutions.
ATTOM analyzed more than 18 million home and condo sales over the past five years, and identified the days on which homebuyers received the steepest discounts below estimated market value.
Of the top 10, seven of the days were in December, and one each was in October, November and February.
The top day for discounts was Dec. 26 (-$2,500); followed by Dec. 7 (-$2,000); Dec. 4 (-$1,823); Dec. 29 (-$1,320); Dec. 21 (-$1,223); Dec 1. and Oct. 12 (-$1,000); Nov. 9 (-$666); Feb. 9 (-$500); and Dec. 8 ((-$149).
