After 12 years of experience in the real estate and title industry, Julie Angelakos joined the Stewart Legal Services team as state counsel for Illinois. She brings an expertise in risk management and an understanding of real estate, banking and probate issues to her role.

She began her law career as a clerk for the DuPage County State’s Attorney, researching cases and writing various court documents. She was later a clerk for The Options Clearing Companies, researching securities law, drafting contracts and amendments, monitoring the Federal Register, and more. She joined Chicago Title as a title examiner in 2001, subsequently serving as an assistant title officer before being promoted to attorney title officer in 2005. In 2012, Angelakos was additionally designated assistant vice president and office counsel, serving as the team lead for four underwriters/examiners.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from DePaul University, a master's of laws in health care law from Loyola University and a JD from Northern Illinois University.
