Simplifile has added e-recording to Grundy County, Ill., and Citrus and Hernando Counties in Fla.
The Grundy County clerk and recorder’s office is now electronically recording documents through Simplifile, an e-recording service provider, giving customers the ability to submit documents online, a faster, more efficient recording option. When documents are submitted through Simplifile for e-recording, the recorder’s office can review, record and return the electronic document to the filer in minutes, allowing them the option to go paperless.
“I have pledged that I would provide cost-effective and comprehensive service to my constituents since taking office in 1976, and Simplifile will allow me to continue that tradition of excellence in this most important county office,” said Recorder Lana Phillips. “By going ‘green,’ this office will reduce mailing costs and paper waste and allow us to be more responsible toward our environment.”
She continued to say it’s important to keep up with the latest technology.
In Florida, Southeast Title, a local title company with offices in Spring Hill and New Port Richey, successfully recorded the first electronic document in Hernando County using Simplifile.
“E-recording is quick, efficient and easy to do,” said Dan Holback, licensed title agent with Southeast Title. “It reduces to gap immensely, which makes our title insurance underwriters very happy. We were proud to be the first submitter in the nation to e-record a document with the Hernando County Clerk of Court.”
