North American Title Co. has added Mark Shaffer as vice president, major accounts manager for California. With nearly 20 years’ expertise in the unique title and escrow needs of lenders, Shaffer specifically will work with regional and national lender customers.
“Mark’s background in business operations, networking, talent development, account management and customer service will be an asset to North American Title as he focuses on servicing the needs of high-volume regional and national lenders,” said Dia Demmon, regional president, North American Title. “What we will appreciate the most is his can-do attitude and teamwork mentality.”
Shaffer most recently worked as a regional sales manager for a national settlement services company that serves mortgage lenders. Prior to that, he worked as California state manager for a full-service title agency and as a region account manager for a national company that provides appraisal, title and closing services to mortgage and home equity lenders.
NATIC added Mark Heacock as Mid Atlantic regional underwriting counsel. Heacock has 30 years of experience in underwriting, residential and commercial real estate closing and education, in addition to claims resolution, avoidance and elimination in corporate and agency environments.
“Mark has an impressive resume of experience in the legal and escrow production realm, as well as being an entrepreneur and a proven manager,” said Geoffrey Ginn, senior vice president, independent agency for NATIC. “Additionally, agencies and attorneys in the region are familiar with Mark due to his background in providing CLE and continuing education for title insurance. We look forward to using the entire range of his knowledge and acumen to assist our agency network in the Mid-Atlantic region.”
Most recently, Heacock was a sole proprietor of an international law practice and founded and managed title agency in the Washington D.C., metropolitan area, performing residential and commercial closings.
