Nationwide Title Clearing (NTC) has completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 1, Type 2 examination from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the company announced.
The audit was conducted by a national security and compliance solutions provider and affirms the description of NTC's systems and the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of its controls.
“Independent audits by third parties can be time-consuming, but they are an excellent method for assuring our customers that we are worthy partners,” NTC CEO John Hillman said in a press release.
“I'm proud of our team for working through this audit process again, providing the independent examiner with everything required and once again achieving this examination with zero exceptions or gaps in effectiveness,” Hillman added.
The audit examined the controls NTC has in place to ensure data confidentiality, integrity and availability. Auditors concluded that NTC's controls were suitably designed to provide reasonable assurance that client data and information would be safe and secure; and that the company’s controls were tested and were operated effectively throughout 2016.
“Reports like the SSAE-16 required for this examination give our customers a look into the inner workings of our company,” NTC Chief Information Security Officer Scotty McEntire said. “They deserve to know that their data and information is being processed safely and securely and that all their requirements and those of their regulators are being met.”
