North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) has hired Jessica Hew as vice president, underwriting counsel and state agency manager in Florida, the company announced.
NATIC said Hew will work with Assistant Vice President, Regional Agency Manager Geoffrey Harris, State Agency Manager Andrew Nadal and State Agency Manager Michael Soviero to oversee agency operations in Florida and expand NATIC’s Florida attorney agent base.
“NATIC customers will look to Jessica as their single point of contact for all things NATIC. She can support their sales and administrative needs as well as work closely with them on any underwriting matters,” NATIC Chief Underwriting Counsel Valerie Jahn-Grandin said in a release. “Jessica is hands-on and understands that the deal waits for no one. She has extensive practice experience and will offer unparalleled understanding of the role of attorneys as agents and counselors.”
“Jessica embraces our open, honest and direct communication culture,” NATIC Vice President and National Agency Manager Rich Griffin added. “She is fearless in her ability to approach a situation and look for the solution. Her focus will be toward attorneys in central Florida, offering guidance and support to those managing a full client base and those with closing and settlement operations.”
Hew worked nearly 20 years at Burr & Forman LLP, a national commercial and real estate firm, where she handled claims on behalf of major underwriters. She also served as a partner at Vose Law Firm in Winter Park, Fla., before going into solo practice.
“After having practiced law for 25 plus years in government, private law firms and with businesses, I am thrilled to join NATIC to assist agents in real estate law from the underwriter’s standpoint,” Hew said. “NATIC is a nationally known, dynamic company with thoughtful associates who care about the people behind the transaction.”
