The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has released a paper detailing its recommendations to ensure stability and consistent consumer protections from Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
In its paper, MBA concludes the CFPB has sometimes exceeded its statutory authority, causing “unnecessary regulatory burden and uncertainty which has hindered consumer access to mortgage credit and stifled innovation.”

Economists see looming recession

Three-fourths of economists expect a recession by the end of 2021, according to a recent survey by the National Association for Business Economics (NABE).
A majority of NABE members said a budget deficit that equals 4 percent of the gross domestic product would be worrisome. Many economists believe that is likely given the deficit for fiscal year 2018 was 3.85 percent.
