Westcor Land Title Insurance Co. announced that it has named a pair of vice presidents to its Texas operations. Steve Black has been named vice president, Texas agency manager, and Richard Worsham has been named vice president, Texas underwriting counsel, the company said in a news release.
Black most recently built and operated three individual Texas title agencies. He has more than 25 years of experience in the title industry, and his previous role with a national underwriter helped forge national agent relationships. During his tenure with the national underwriter, Black developed a centralized title production platform for national lending institutions.
In his new role as vice president, Texas agency manager, he will be responsible for ensuring superior service to Westcor agents while expanding the company’s presence to make way for significant growth in the Texas market.
Worsham has been practicing law for 29 years, including 20 in title industry. His experience spans from running a fee attorney practice, dealing primarily with residential properties, to underwriting large commercial transactions. He recently spent the last several years as underwriting counsel, for a large national underwriter. Worsham also has extensive speaking experience, having taught for the Texas Land Title Association, the State Bar of Texas, South Texas College of Law, at several large Texas law firms, and numerous continuing educations courses for real estate agents and title agencies.
“We are excited to have Steve and Richard join us at Westcor,” Westcor Executive Vice President and Director of Agency Scott Chandler said. “Their extensive experience in the title insurance industry will be a great asset to Westcor and our Texas agents.”
