MBA President and CEO David Stevens announced the promotion of five MBA staff members. They will be effective Jan. 1, 2015.
Among those named to new positions was Rick Hill, who will serve as vice president of industry technology.
“Rick came to MBA with a breadth of technical knowledge few in the realm of real estate finance possess,” Stevens said. “He is responsible for working with our members toward industry solutions to improve the systems and processes our industry relies upon to efficiently originate and service loans in both the residential and commercial/multifamily spaces. His work in these areas is extremely valuable, not just to MBA and our members, but to the entire mortgage industry. I congratulate him on his well-deserved promotion.”
Hill joined MBA in 2010 and is responsible for providing leadership to MBA and its membership relating to operational and technology topics faced by the industry, including through the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO), where he is executive vice president. He also is responsible for developing content for the MBA’s Technology Conference and leading all of MBA’s technology forums and working groups – both residential and commercial/multi-family – as well as managing technology related content for MBA Education.

Having joined MBA in 2006, Kan is responsible for managing the production of MBA’s macroeconomic and housing market forecasts. He also oversees the production of MBA’s industry surveys, including the Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey, the National Delinquency Survey, Builder Application Survey and Mortgage Credit Availability Index. He writes monthly commentaries regarding economic statistics and industry data. He was the director of economic forecasting.
