Alliant National Title Insurance Co., appointed Elyce Schweitzer to the position of regulatory compliance officer and vice president.
In this new role, Schweitzer will provide guidance on regulatory requirements for compliance with applicable title insurance laws and also be tasked with spearheading research and analysis. These responsibilities are in line with her professional experience, as Schweitzer has worked in law and real estate for more than 20 years.
After earning her bachelor’s degree and graduating with honors from the University of Wisconsin, Schweitzer went on to earn a master’s degree in health sciences from the University of Central Florida and a law degree from the Albany Law School of Union University. She eventually entered the title industry as claims counsel for First American Title and then, later, Commonwealth Land Title.
In 2010, Schweitzer opened her own practice to focus further on the real estate sector, representing parties and mediating foreclosure cases. She is a member of the Florida Bar, the New York Bar and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. She also has acted as Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, and is a certified Project Management Professional. In addition, Schweitzer is an adjunct instructor at Valencia College, where she teaches both project management and ethics classes.
