Hardin County is the final Iowa County to adopt eRecording of documents through Simplifile, making eRecording available statewide. eRecording is the method of submitting, receiving and process documents such as land records for recording online, which otherwise are submitted by mail, runner or courier service.
“Having this service available to all of Iowa’s 99 counties is a wonderful accomplishment,” Simplifile President Paul Clifford said. “Without question, we feel privileged to be partners with each individual county in the state of Iowa and applaud them in their decision to provide this technology that is both cost-effective and convenient not only for them, but also for the customers.”
Using Simplifile’s web-based service, customers such as title companies, banks and attorneys can electronically prepare or scan and upload documents and send them securely to the county online for recording in minutes. Benefits of eRecording include fewer payment errors, reduced mailing expenses and increased document security.
Iowa joins six other states — Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, and Massachusetts — in statewide adoption of eRecording through Simplifile.
