While authorities are still adding up its toll, Hurricane Harvey at this point is being blamed for more than 70 deaths in Texas and Louisiana and an estimated $75 billion in damages.
The hurricane and its aftermath destroyed homes, cars and possessions, displacing more than one million residents. Some employees of Capital Title in Houston and have lost homes and do not have flood insurance. A fund has been established to help them. Those wishing to volunteer in cleanup efforts, provide food or shelter to volunteers or offer other services, please call or text Allison Mayo at 832-942-3926.
At Great American Title, the homes of at least 17 employees have been flooded and many employees also lost cars. The company has created a GoFundMe page and will be matching contributions dollar-for- dollar up to $25,000.
First National Title Insurance Family has created a fund to aid independent agents at 14 companies with offices in the gulf-region counties. FNTI is assessing each company’s level of need.
At least three Old Republic Title Insurance Co. family members have lost everything. A GoFundMe page has been established to help them.
Several PGP Title/PulteGroup employees have lost their homes, cars and possessions. A fund has been created to assist them, and PulteGroup will be matching contributions dollar-for-dollar until it meets its’ goal.
