eRecording now is available in the town of Windsor, Conn., through Simplifile.
“The town of Windsor, like most other municipalities, is looking for ways to provide new services for a public that are technologically driven,” Windsor Town Clerk Anna Posniak said. “Our goal is to deliver better services to our customers at a lower cost, and eRecording is a modern tool that allows us to meet that goal.”
With eRecording available, title companies, banks, attorneys and other document submitters will be able to electronically prepare, scan or upload documents and submit them to the clerk’s office for recording.
“The land recording process will become faster and more efficient, which ultimately is a benefit both the clerk’s office and the customer,” Posniak said. “In addition, there is a cost savings for postage for both parties as the documents will no longer be delivered by traditional means.”
Recording fees and payments also can be processed securely through Simplifile via Automated Clearing House (ACH), eliminating the need for submitters to write and mail checks.
“Simplifile made the implementation process extremely stress-free,” Posniak added.
According to Posniak, the clerk’s office currently is accepting all land documents with the exception of deeds and maps.
“We’re excited to provide customers who record documents in the Town of Windsor with our eRecording service. It’s easy-to-use and so much more convenient than sending documents through the mail or having to drive to the clerk’s office to record in person,” Simplifile President Paul Clifford said.
