The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) appointed Lisa Haynes as chief financial officer and Lynn Fisher as vice president of research and economics.
Haynes joins MBA from Fannie Mae, where she served as vice president of operational accounting. She has more than 25 years of experience in finance, accounting, planning and leadership experience, with a focused expertise on budgeting, expense management, forecasting and cash flow projections.
“Lisa knows finance and accounting, and she knows the real estate finance business, so she is a perfect fit for MBA,” MBA CEO and President David Stevens said. “She has a wide range of expertise, including strategic planning and execution, which will make her a critical member of MBA’s senior leadership team.”
As CFO, Haynes will provide executive level leadership and management of the association’s accounting and financial functions, including setting the policies, procedures, strategies and practices for these functions. She will advise Stevens and MBA’s senior leadership team with respect to financial reporting, financial stability and liquidity and financial growth.
Fisher comes to MBA from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina, where she served as associate professor of real estate and the David D. and Carol Ann Flanagan Scholar. She formerly served on the faculty at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning and the Center for Real Estate, where she was director of the MIT/CRE Housing Affordability Initiative. She received her Ph.D. in business administration from Pennsylvania State University, where she concentrated in real estate finance and microeconomics. She has an MS in business administration and a BA in international politics from Penn State. At the Kenan-Flagler School, her research focused on home ownership, mortgage financing and development.
“Lynn is an expert in the field of real estate economics, and I have no doubt she will step right in and begin making significant contributions to MBA’s research efforts,” MBA Chief Economist and Senior Vice President for Research and Industry Technology Mike Fratantoni said. “MBA’s data, analyses and forecasts are industry benchmarks. Dr. Fisher will contribute in each of these areas, positioning her as a highly visible and much sought after expert in our industry.”
