Douglas County, Colo., has selected the Landmark Official Records system from Pioneer Technology Group as the county’s new recording and public search system. This is the first installation of Landmark in Colorado.

“We’re very pleased to be selected by the Douglas County after a rigorous evaluation that included most, if not all, of the competing official records system providers,” PTG President Steve Rumsey said. “We are excited to be in Colorado and to continue our national expansion. Pioneer has entered 15 new states in the last two years, and that number continues to grow as counties and registers of deeds across the country experience what a difference it makes to partner with Pioneer and share with their colleagues our reputation for delivering superior systems, service and support.”
The Landmark Official Records system enables counties, clerks of court, records and registers of deeds offices to streamline processes and improve public service when recording land records. The system includes robust public document searching, simple eCommerce payments and has optional capability for processing county property tax deed sales online.

“While Pioneer’s Landmark system is new to the recording landscape in Colorado, the company has over 15 years’ experience with recording and court software throughout the United States,” said Nancy Sotomayer, Douglas County recording manager. “The legacy of being the first county in Colorado to successfully accept an electronic recording and to electronically certify a copy pushes the county to continually look ahead and find ways to improve services for business partners, customers and staff.”
“Pioneer Technologies’ Landmark system was chosen for many reasons,” said Jack Arrowsmith, Douglas County clerk and recorder. “These included their experience converting Oracle blobs to file level images and the ease of use of the system. New functionality will allow customers to print and pay for their copies online, and staff will be able to email documents and receipts from within the application and automatically create passport transmittal sheets. Douglas County looks forward to this new partnership with Pioneer and is very excited to be able to continue offering our citizens and business partners’ better, more efficient services.”
