Stewart Lender Services Inc. announced that Jim Davis has joined the company as vice chairman and executive vice president of strategy and business development.

Davis joins Stewart from Homeward Residential (formerly American Home Mortgage Servicing), where he recently served in a role as executive vice president - chief government affairs officer and had responsibility for all activities and relationships with government agencies, consumer groups, trade groups, press and other external entities. Davis was also the leader of Homeward’s Jacksonville, Fla., servicing site, providing oversight of the people, process and technology located there.
Prior to moving into the government affairs role, Davis served as head of default administration for Homeward with responsibility for all default functions including loss mitigation, foreclosure and bankruptcy. Prior to the acquisition by Homeward, Davis managed all customer service, collections, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy and claim functions for Option One Mortgage. He managed 1,000 associates across two domestic locations as well as three sites in India and one in Mexico.
Prior to joining Option One, Davis worked with HomeSide lending where his responsibilities included oversight of all default services domestically and in Australia where he served as Head of Servicing for HomeSide Lending’s Australian servicing operation.
Davis presently serves and has previously served, on many industry committees including LPS Mortgage Advisory Board, the MBA Loan Administration Steering Committee, the Alltel/Fidelity Default User Committee, the FNMA Default Advisory Board, the FHLMC Default Advisory Group, the HUD Servicing Practices Work Group and has been a member of several industry pilot groups including MGIC’s Loss Mitigation Score, Freddie Mac’s Early Indicator Score and Mortgage Information Corporation’s Credit Score pilot.
