Nebraska Title Co., a full-service, independent title agency, has acquired City Abstract, a company based in Scottsbluff, Neb., according to media reports.
“This is a solid combination of leaders within the industry. We look forward to continuing to expand our operations statewide,” said Jennifer Strand, chief operating officer and general counsel for Nebraska Title, in a statement announcing the deal.
Founded in 1947, Nebraska Title provides residential and commercial title, escrow and 1031 exchange services and has offices in Omaha, Sarpy, Lincoln, Crete, Plattsmouth and David City. The company has 26 licensed title agents and nine registered abstractors across the state.
According to the American Land Title Association, Nebraska Title is part of Title Midwest Inc., a Topeka, Kan.-based title insurance and real estate escrow holding company, with subsidiary title insurance agencies in Kansas, Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri.
Nebraska Title’s underwriters include Fidelity National Title Group, First American Title Insurance Co., Old Republic National Title Insurance Co. and Chicago Title Insurance Co.
